Where do we work?

Somaliland

Africa

Nuovo Nordic Healthcare Services team has been working for several years in Somaliland. Our first operation was a collaboration with the IOM’s MIDA FINNSOM project. This included the development of a digital antenatal monitoring application based on our proprietary platform. Later, this expanded into co-authoring the national antenatal care guidelines with the Finnish National Institute for Health and Welfare.

This project came to an end with the completion of the MIDA FINNSOM phase IV in 2019 but NNHS was requested by Somaliland’s Ministry of Health and Development to continue with the mobile app project.  During the current phase in Somaliland, nurses are using the NUONEA application actively in four selected MCH clinics. They have subscribed to the benefits mentioned and wish to use only the application over the handwritten records.

In respect to the obvious synergistic benefits,  the Finnish Somali Network has introduced the project to the representatives of the Ministry of Health and Development in Puntland. After active communication between the NNHS and Ministry of Health, the project has moved forward at the beginning of May 2022 by starting the test run at two selected clinics.

Nuovo Nordic Healthcare services (NNHS) conducted a pilot project in Kisii County between 2020-2022. The project involved a digitalisation of the handwritten ANC register by NUONEA application. The application was piloted in four facilities run by the county and private sector and more than 2000 antenatal visits have been stored to the NUONEA application by May 2022.
